Cindy Teoh-Cavefors is a seasoned investment analyst with nearly a decade’s worth of experience in business analysis and risk management. She has reviewed hundreds of privately-held companies ranging from pre-seed start-ups to pre-IPO enterprises, as well as some public-listed firms. Besides her fund management responsibilities at Golden Equator Capital (GEC), she has found time to mentor entrepreneurs as an ecosystem judge for Slush in 2016 and as an investor at a Tech in Asia investor-startup speed-dating session in 2015.
Prior to joining GEC, Cindy worked at HSBC Global Banking. The domain knowledge she obtained through managing the corporate finance needs of large conglomerates was fortified in the subsequent business management role, which provided valuable insights to how banks operate across business units locally and internationally. This has positioned her well for evaluating Financial Technology (FinTech) and enterprise solutions. She has also assessed ventures that employ big data, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, adtech, travel tech, food tech, edutech, agritech, biotech, telematics and the internet of things (IoT), among others.
For Cindy, investing is synonymous with her passion for skiing – the snow is always different on every run, so you have to plan your path, watch out for others, choose your momentum and keep your balance. Cindy holds a B.A. Major in Economics from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and has passed the CFA Level 1 examination.
