Dr Sze Tiam Lin is Director at IPI Singapore, a non-profit organization established by the Ministry of Trade & Industry Singapore, to catalyse and enable enterprises to grow their business through technology and innovation. IPI promotes Open Innovation, and works with enterprises to source for technologies both locally or from abroad; and facilitate partnership to bring new and innovative products and services to the market.
Prior to IPI, Dr Sze was Senior Vice President at ETPL, the commercialisation arm of Agency for Science, Technology And Research (A*STAR), Singapore.
He has extensive experience in commercialising new technologies ranging from information technology, telecommunications, electronics, materials & chemicals, nanotechnologies, manufacturing to medical technology. While in ETPL, Dr Sze contributed to several best practices in industry-research collaboration, licensing, technology and market intelligence, IP management and strategy; and licensing professional skills and training. Dr Sze is a Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) with Licensing Executive Society (US-Canada). He is a council member of the Executive Committee of the Licensing Executive Society (LES), Singapore. He has contributed to various IP and technology commercialisation initiatives in Singapore including the IP Competency Framework, Singapore IP Master Plan and Tech-Connect Task Force. Dr Sze is a review member in several government grant committees and panels for technology commercialisation. He is currently a member of MOE Innovation & Enterprise Office Committee (IEOC).
Dr. Sze holds a Ph.D and B.Eng in Automatic Control & Systems Engineering from the University of Sheffield, UK and attended an executive program in Strategic R&D Management at INSEAD, Fontainebleau.
